    "As Your Heart Beats'' consists of 7 tracks covering different parts and aspects of our world including our own psyche. While on tour throughout Europe, Asia and Canada, I was able to talk to a lot of locals about what they love, fear, aspirations, and heavy matters that affect our society today. While certain issues run rampant and are more prolific in certain areas of this world, others can be completely oblivious to them. People face concerns that can only be shaped in certain societies. I wanted to create an album that makes us more curious and aware of what others face. As Your Heart Beats came about when I was listening to a podcast on an Alan Watts lecture during my tour in Poland.

    You don't force it to beat.

    It does it by itself.

    To be so of itself

    The more Liberty, love, the more order you'll have."


    Ukraine just got tragically hit for the first time when I was there. I watched my Polish friends immediately run to the aid of their neighbour. Within a day, the streets were covered in Ukrainian flags showing their undying support for them. It was a beautiful yet somber experience. A few days later, I flew back to Japan. While they were obviously very concerned with the situation in Ukraine, the country was battling the pandemic completely unmindful of what Poland was going through. This album is just about being fully aware of what is. It all happens as your heart beats.

I wanted this to be kind of like an episode of Buck Rogers. The colors are very psychedelic with a lot of pastels. Think of 1970’s space TV shows and Silver Surfer.

The man of science is a person who thinks they know it all yet not fully aware of the dangers that face him. He slowly realizes this as he travels to another planet where nothing is of the norm. He’s amazed by the beauty and haunted by his own bias. Traveling to this Paper Sun is a chance for him to redeem himself.
